Twelve Moons · Vilnius, Lithuania

Design decisions made to survive real use.

Twelve Moons is a design studio led by Rokas Cicėnas. The work centres on two connected disciplines: custom typography that gives a brand its own voice, and packaging systems that carry that voice across products and into production.

Discuss a project

How the studio works

Scope follows the decision the product actually needs.

01

Start from the current stage

A project may begin with a new identity, an existing strategic direction or an approved design that only needs to be adapted and prepared.

02

Define the right design object

A wordmark, lettering piece, full typeface, single package and product-range system solve different problems and are scoped accordingly.

03

Test real applications

Typography and packaging are reviewed at the sizes, formats, variants and information densities in which they will be used.

04

Make the handover explicit

Final deliverables, dieline responsibilities, language versions, production files and ownership boundaries are agreed as part of the scope.

Evidence before claims

The portfolio remains the source of truth.

  1. 01

    Brief

The product, audience, current assets, applications and constraints define the assignment.

  2. 02

    Direction

A selected strategic and visual route creates a reason for the design decisions that follow.

  3. 03

    System

The work is tested across the formats, variants and communication levels named in the scope.

  4. 04

    Delivery

Approved assets are organised for the brand, packaging or production workflow agreed with the client.

Expertise in context

The reasoning behind the deliverables.

The studio's practical guides explain when custom typography is justified, how its deliverables differ and how packaging systems are planned before production artwork begins.

Clear boundaries

What the studio is—and is not—positioned for.

Is Twelve Moons a website-typography specialist?

No. Custom typography is positioned for brand, packaging and product applications, including wordmarks, lettering and type systems.

Does every packaging project require a rebrand?

No. When the existing strategy and identity provide a sufficient foundation, the assignment can begin with packaging direction, system design and production artwork.

Does production-ready artwork include structural engineering?

Design can be adapted to manufacturer-supplied dielines. Structural packaging engineering and final printer approval are separate unless explicitly included in the agreed scope.

Where can the work be reviewed?

Selected work is available in the Twelve Moons portfolio, with project-specific descriptions, credits and source links where available.
